The Cameron Development

Flato has submitted plans for the first phase of their development in Cameron. It includes 423 seasonal homes, a private water filtration plant for drawing water from the lake, as well as sewage treatment facilities, all nestled around an 18 hole top tier golf course, club house, and marina.

 

They are calling this private resort “Kawartha Bay.” Flato’s rezoning application will come before the Planning Advisory Committee on Wednesday, September 13, at 1.00pm in the Council Chambers at City Hall.

Note that none of these homes will be permanent housing; all are intended to be "second homes" for those who will be part of this exclusive community. A development like this increases the likelihood of airbnb-type short-term rentals. In addition, such homes do not contribute to the year-round viability of our businesses or schools.
